Fashion Inspiration

I was recently looking through all of the new clothes on the MissGuided website and lemme tell you – They have some really nice bits and pieces on there. Whilst I was scrolling through them with my mad dreamy heart eyes, I just knew that I had to put them in a blogpost and share some of their best bits with you all. This is only a select few so, if I was you I’d head over to the website after reading this (be prepared to burn a big hole in your pocket). Ready? Lets go!!

 
 
I absolutely LOVE this embroidered mesh crop top. It’s gorgeous. I’ve been noticing recently that this kind of floral print is everywhere. Obviously, the floral print has been around since before us, our mums and our nans were born (haha). Yet, I’ve noticed that this floral print seems to be drawing on twigs, stems and leaves as opposed to the actual flower but itself. It definitely seems to be more Autumnal inspired (crazy I know but, all the sales are getting rid of summer clothes for cough cough AUTUMN WHAT!!!). Of course, it’s still a crop top and it’s still very summery but, I think it’s something you could wear all year round. I like how the model has paired it with a plain black bralet – I would definitely do the same. For the bottoms, I would find a faux leather skirt in the green/yellow shade that the stems have – It would look so amazing.

Ah, I really do start thinking of all sorts of amazing outfits when I see wrap over mesh trousers. Luckily, they do come with the knicker underlay so you would never be worrying about that side of it – From there you just need a pretty bralette or vest top and you’re sorted. The one thing that I love about these mesh trousers (something that other types are missing) is how there’s a slit up the leg of them, it gives them more of a “swishy” look which I think would look great as you were dancing on a night out. You could put sparkles and glitter over your legs and every so often, you would get the glimmer from them – It would look amazing. The belt is such a good idea, I really think it adds a statement to the outfit and helps to provide a block between the trousers and the top, adding to the contrast of the outfit. If you zoom in you will see just how beautiful the belt is – I need it in my life right now.

I know that this bralette may just look like your typical lace bralette but hold with me, holdddd with me. You may have noticed that it’s longer than your typical bralette and if you have noticed that, then you’re right. I love that the added extra length of it really helps to create an impact to the look as you’ve got more lace against bare skin which is always such a nice look. The plunging neckline and the skinny straps really give off a classy look – It could easily be very over the top but it’s been designed in a very simplistic way. My idea with this was that it would look amazing on a shorter person – Of course, it’s designed for a taller person so can you imagine it as a full length bralette (Just to set the record straight – I’ve never seen a full length bralette (EVER).  Wow, I’m glad I’ve finished talking about that – I feel like I’ve said “bralette” about a million times. Not an overexageration, okay.

I’ve only just realised how nice the skirt and the “like no other” top would look together. It would be such a simple and casual outfit yet, it would still look ever so nice and stylish. The blue denim has such a nice hue to it, it’s almost like the perfect shade of denim. It’s bright but, in a natural and worn in way. The fact that it’s distressed really helps in keeping with the worn in and casual vibes. There is a lot of rips across the skirts which in some cases, I find ruins it and makes it look overdone BUT the designers have really nailed this one on the head. You could definitely wear the top with the skirt, you could either: tuck it in, tie it with a knot at the side or even tie it with a knot at the front. There’s multiple ways to style it. I know it may look like the flowers/twigs are embroidery but, in actual fact they’re graphics. When I read that in the description, it made me like the top more. Everything has embroidery across it nowadays and I do really like it BUT sometimes it’s good to change it up a little bit. The other thing that I really like is the font of the writing, I like how it’s big, bold and quite officey. Officey is definitely not a word (haha) – I’m hoping you understand what I mean.

Okay, so the pink shorts and bralette are pyjamas but, I think you could definitely get away with it as an outfit on holiday or to a festival. Nonetheless, as a pyjama set – It’s absolutely gorgeous. I don’t know if I’m the only one (I’m sure I’m not) but, I feel so much better when I’m in a pair of matching pyjamas, especially when they’re cute ones like these. Even if you’re home alone and no one is going to see you in them, there’s something about a nice pair of pyjamas that puts you in a good mood and makes you want to get cosy and watch a movie. These are exactly those kind of PJs. Ahh, out of everything I’ve shown you so far I honestly think I want these the most. I know the saying is “A girl can never have too many shoes”. Well, I think “A girl can never have too many pyjamas” – You can’t go wrong.

 

What was that about saving the best until last? Uh huhhhh, I totally went there and I defineltely (by far) saved the best till’ last. I honestly can’t get over these oversized tortoise shell glasses. I mean – Look at the lens for starters, it’s a mixture of copper, bronze and gold; It’s the perfect shade. The contrast between the lens and the tortoise shell pattern is perfect, it flows so effortlessly. The final feature of these glasses that I love is the transition from the tortoise shell pattern to the plain black. So effortless. So chic.

The Ultimate Blogger's Handbook

Blogging can seem like an absolute mind field sometimes, which is something I know I’m not alone in. There’s just so much to it; in terms of the look of your blog, writing posts, marketing, networking, SEO (I’m still pretty clueless about that) and so much more. Now, I started blogging three months ago and it’s actually become something that I get a lot of joy and passion out of. As I’m fairly new here, I’ve been looking to other bloggers for their tips and tricks regarding growing and bettering a blog. Below are a few of the posts that I’ve found really helpful and thought they deserved to be shared with you beautiful people.

 

1.       This post really helped to give me an insight on writing content that people are actually going to read, she talks about things like photography, the value of the post and also how to create a killer introduction paragraph.

 

2.       If you’re a fellow blogger and you’re really trying to take it seriously, you will know just how hard it can be to balance growing your blog as well as working and socialising. This post really gives some great tips for how to establish a balance whilst growing a successful blog.

 

 

3.       I’m no way at this point yet BUT I would like to get to this point in the future. So, if you’re interested in writing posts EVERY SINGLE DAY, then get reading this post.

 

4.       A big part of getting readers to your blog is making sure it looks really nice. I still have a long way to go with mine and I’m waiting a few months before buying my own domain and really making my blog look good but, when I’m ready for that I will be heading to this blog post as it’s got some great tips to have your blog looking flawless.

 

5.       A great way to help grow your audience is through marketing on pinterest. This post explains how you can take advantage of pinterest to increase your traffic and readers.

 

6.       I love this post, it doesn’t necessarily give you tips on how to improve your blog but, it provides reassurance that every blogger has started somewhere. It also prepares you for what you’ve got to come.

 

7.       If you’ve got writers block, this is the perfect post to give you some ideas on what you can write about.

 

8.       This post provides you with all the tips and tricks to rule marketing via social media.

Get the look: Polyvore

When I was about thirteen, I used to write fan-fictions (haha). Honestly, they are so funny for me to read back. Anyway, the thing that I used to enjoy the most about writing fan-fictions was making outfits for characters using polyvore. So, I decided that I'd use polyvore to create some of my dream outfits and to also give you a bit of inspiration. I had so much fun doing this and I really hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed making them.

                                                                    Black and Red

I love this outfit SO much. I think that all black outfits pretty much always look amazing but adding a pop of colour, such as red can really make all the difference and give your outfit a bit of edge. I kept this outfit simple with black skinny jeans and also a simple black crop top. I haven't gone for excessive jewellery as jewellery wasn't the thing that I wanted to make a statement. The statement items I've chosen are the patent block heels (I need them in my life right now) and of course, the read leather jacket. I have one very similar to this and I like to style it over my shoulders instead of wearing it like an actual jacket. I love the little Gucci clutch, I think it's beautiful. I wanted it to have a pop of red so that there was a theme running through this outfit.

If I was going to wear this outfit anywhere, it would be for a city break in London. I can imagine shopping in this outfit. I love it.

                                                                         Casual

I love, love, love this look. I wanted to keep it really casual and basic, hence the lack of jewellery. It's a very simple outfit but I also think it's still really stylish. I love the colour of the jumper as well as the knit, it looks heavy and really good quality. I think it would fit well. The skirt is my favourite part about this look, I think it makes it iconic but also has a ring of innocence about it. It's so detailed, it looks like a piece of artwork. It's a seriously beautiful skirt but it's Gucci so I don't think it's going to be in my wardrobe anytime soon (haha). I then added an orange rucksack and baseball cap to try and help a theme flow through it.

I think I would wear this outfit to go on a lunch date or maybe to grab a coffee. Either way, I love it so much.

                                                                   Festival fashion

I created this look knowing that I wanted to make something I would wear to a festival like Creamfields, as it's the festival at the top of my list to go to. I love this look. I think it's very simple and pretty, it's very feminine but it's still perfect for a festival look. I think the shorts are adorable, I love how they have the detailing at the top - I've never seen that on a pair of shorts before and I really feel it makes all the difference. I decided that the colour I wanted to run throughout the outfit was a nude pinky colour hence the pink timberlands, nude glasses and sun hat. My favourite item in this look is the bralette, I'm all about pretty lace bralettes at the moment. They really are a girls best friend, am I right ladies?? I also love the matching flower earrings and necklace. They're gorgeous.

    Night Out

 

Now this look is probably my favourite out of all the looks that I created. It's just amazing and I would thoroughly enjoy wearing this on a night out. If only (haha). Again, the skirt is Gucci but, isn't is beautiful? It is so detailed, everything from the flowers to the pleats and the studs and the little belt have been thought out very well and you can really tell. The skirt is such a statement that I couldn't pair it with any other patterned pieces cause that would completely clash. So, I thought this simple bralette would be the perfect item to accompany with it - Making the outfit really come together. As you can see, there is gold on the skirt which meant that I had to pick gold jewellery. I love how the jewellery seems to match, especially the choker and earrings.

 

I just think it's a well coordinated outfit and every fashion girls' dream.

How To: Dress Like a Style Icon

 

So, it's currently 1:30am and I'm sat nursing a cold whilst inhaling steam from a mug with "chocolate heaven" written across it. Seriously, the weather has been beautiful in England lately and lets not forget the fact it's May aka spring yet, I still wind up with a cold. I've been planning this post and was going to write it upon waking in the morning but, thanks to this cold, here I am. Hey.

As you've probably guessed by the title, today I'm going to be showing you how to dress like a style icon. In my opinion, personal style is an important thing and it's something that everyone has even nit they're not necessarily seen as "fashionable". I see my personal style as art, it's my creative outlet and a form of expressing who I am. Sure, I get a lot of ideas from stalking instagram and pinterest for outfit ideas and of course, there's certain people whose outfits I never fail to love.

So, it's time for me to show you my style icons and share some tips on how to dress like a style icon.

 

Vanessa HudgensSinger & Actress  Instagram - @vanessahudgens

My first icon of choice is Vanessa Hudgens and I'm sure I don't really need to explain why. Her looks are effortless and always so well coordinated. She uses simple patterns, as you can see with the polka dot dress which overflows with vintage vibes. As you can see, she's not afraid of vibrant colours; this girl really knows how to work a yellow. She knows her colour pallets and she knows the best way to make a colour pop is to have it against a simple background, here she uses white - Her outfits are put together so well.

Overall, her style is bohemian/hippy chic and everyone in the world knows this (maybe a slight over exaggeration).

TIP #1 Have an established style and own it.

I love all of her outfits here, especially the pretty detailed dress. It's very feminine. The thing that I like about all of these outfits is what she's thrown over them; grandpa style cardigans. They're nothing special, they're very simple in fact but they really do make the outfit.

TIP #2 Throw a cardigan over your outfit and sometimes have it draped over your shoulders instead of wearing it properly.

 

Zendaya

My second icon of choice is Zendaya and seriously, is it any wonder why? I feel like a school girl saying this but, she just looks SO cool. I feel like she goes for very comfy outfits, outfits that are casual and chill but she owns them in her own way. She isn't scared of a little bit of experimentation with clashing patterns as you can see with her cheetah patterned baseball cap and camo trousers. Doesn't she pull off cameo so well? She also has her own clothing line called "Daya by Zendaya" which gives me even more need to make her a style icon.

TIP #3 Don't be afraid to experiment with clashing patterns.

 

The thing that I love about Zendaya's style is that she's got a very chill and casual look to her and then BAM out of nowhere comes this look. I mean look at her she looks like an earthly goddess in this mustard yellow scarlett trimmed Dolce & Gabbana gown. She looks so iconic. I love the parrots and the flowers, everything about this look is amazing.

 

 

Jessica Anne Woodley

Jessica's style is very similar to Zendaya's in terms of the casualness and often wearing flats etc... However, I feel that Jess has a bit more edge to her style and even though her outfits are casual they stand out a lot, just from the way she carries them. She uses very simple colours and patterns but definitely isn't afraid to experiment with a more "wild style".

 

 

One of the coolest things about Jessica's style is her use of fur coats (check out her insta, they're everywhere). Her fur coats are where she ups her style game, it's where she takes her casual outfits to the next level of glamour. From high street to cat walk. The best thing is that she wears them so often that they've become "her thing".

 

TIP #4 Find an accessories you like, experiment with it and make it "your thing". Write your name all over it.
